Vintage Kimono Silk/Synthetic Piece

Japanese kimono are made from a single length of fabric that is approximately 14 metres long and 37cm (14.5") wide. 

While outwardly simple, making a kimono is in fact a complex task with very few cuts in the entire garment.   Originally Japanese women would hand sew the kimono, unpick and resew them each time they required cleaning.

Kimono silk is ideal for making bags, accessories, using in hand-crafts or fashion projects. 

This fabric is silk/synthetic mix and comes from a vintage kimono that has been carefully unpicked. 
 
Colour: red, white, black, green, yellow, blue orange and gold
Quality: excellent new condition
Fabric weight: soft to touch with a firm weight that comes from the synthetic content
Size of Piece: 69cm (27") long x 35cm (3.75") wide
Care: we do not recommend cleaning this fabric. Colourfastness is not guaranteed.
