Obi Belt
This belt is made from a piece of authentic vintage obi (the wide, heavily woven silk ‘sash’ traditionally worn around the middle of a kimono) with slim ties at each end for ease of wearing, and to add a nice touch of colour contrast.
Each belt is unique - the obi fabric, weave, weight, colours and designs all give clues to the history of the garment and the social status of its original owners.
This belt was designed and made in Christchurch, New Zealand.
