Slim Obi-inspired Belt
Add an Obi to any outfit without the bulk and discomfort of the real obi!
Inspired by obi (the wide, heavily woven silk ‘sash’ traditionally worn around the middle of a kimono), this belt is a modern twist that can brighten the very dullest of wardrobes. Made from vintage kimono silk or part silk and lined with contemporary dupion silk, the sash belt creates style wherever it goes.
Tips for wearing: This is an accessory that transcends time and season – wear it over a little black dress in summer or black trou and a turtleneck in the dead of winter. For those wanting to show off their waist, position the belt high and tight; to create a more casual and contemporary look, wear it tied on the hip with jeans, a skirt or formal pants.
This belt was designed and made in Christchurch, New Zealand.
